What to Wear

We welcome everyone to come as you are comfortable.  Most come dressed casually and enjoy a cup of coffee in the Fellowship Hall with our friendly congregation before the service begins.

Parking

Parking is located in the front of the church. Specially marked Visitor's spaces are on your left as you enter the parking lot and approach the building.  Handicapped spaces are on the west end of the educational wing at the Handicapped accessible entrance and elevator.

Where to enter

You will find three entrances to our building.  The handicapped entrance is near the handicapped parking spaces on the west side of the building.  As you enter this door you will find an elevator to the second floor and the sanctuary. Our main entrance to the sanctuary is directly off the parking lot. The church offices can be accessed through the doors to the Education wing.  For safety purposes, all doors will be secured as worship begins at 10:30 but the main doors will be available for entrance.

What about the children?

Glad you asked!  We love kids here at Vienna UMC!  Children are welcome in worship, but we know it's hard for little ones to sit still, so if you choose to let them get the wiggles out, our nursery is in the education wing next to the sanctuary or you are welcome to take your little one to the toddler room, equipped with a changing table, rocking chairs and toys in the back of the sanctuary.

During the worship service, our children's leaders bring a message to the children (and adults!). Afterwards, the kids, age pre-school through 3rd grade can go with the leaders to Children's Worship in the Education Wing.

The first Sunday every month is Family Sunday. Communion is always offered this Sunday.  At Vienna UMC we believe it is important for families to worship together and experience the Communion Table together.  We also understand that sometimes kids get distracted or bored, so we provide a special bulletin to help them follow along during the service.  This special Kids Bulletin is filled with questions about the worship and sermon topic.  There is also a space that requires the child to introduce him or herself to someone they don’t know and ask a specific question (something like: What is your favorite restaurant?) At the end of the service, any child with a completed bulletin can show it to Pastor Mary and choose a prize.
