World Famous Swiss Steak Dinners
On the first Saturday of the month
October—April
VUMC offers a Swiss steak dinner as a fundraiser. Most months over 325 people are served so it takes a lot of work from lot of people to make sure there is ample food and dessert. Swiss steak dinners have become a habit for quite a few “regulars” from all over the county who gather here to enjoy the good food and the opportunity to get together to talk, laugh and just enjoy good company.
The Rescue Mission of the
Mahoning Valley
Twice a month a group of people serve lunch at the Youngstown Rescue Mission. If you would like to join us, please contact the church office for a time and meeting place. Also, homemade cookies donations are always appreciated and accepted.
Ecumenical Food Pantry
It is sometimes difficult to buy non-food items when someone relies on assistance or is in need. Each month we collect non-food items and offer them during the food give-away held at St. Thomas the Apostle Church.
School Supplies
In an effort to support our schools, we supply book bags, school supplies, winter coats, boots and anything children may need to help make their school year successful. We also support our schools lunch program by purchasing lunches for families in need.
